The presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has congratulated his All Progressives Congress counterpart, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, after clinching the ruling party’s ticket.
Premium Politics reported that Tinubu polled 1217 votes at the just concluded national convention, defeating the likes of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, at Eagle Square in Abuja.
Atiku tweeted his congratulatory message on his verified Twitter handle as Tinubu dropped his victory speech.
He tweeted, “Congratulations, @officialABAT, on your emergence as your party’s presidential candidate. It has been a hard-fought contest, but that you prevailed confirms your tenacity. -AA”
Premium Politics reported that the at least seven presidential aspirants, including Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, former Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, and former Senate President, Dimeji Bankole, amongst others stepped down for Tinubu on Tuesday.
