Mr Azeez Oshoala, brother to six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year and Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala, has announced his intention to contest for the chairmanship of Ikorodu Local Government under the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming local government elections in Lagos State.
Oshoala, a media entrepreneur, made the declaration on Saturday, emphasising the crucial role of youths in leadership globally due to their strength, vigour, resourcefulness, and dynamism.
Speaking during his declaration at his campaign office in Ikorodu, Oshoala stated, “I have consulted my leaders and other stakeholders widely on the need to be supported to emerge as the next Ikorodu Local Government chairman.
“This move is to help harness and unleash all the potential for greatness and transformation of our local government. This is an offer to serve my people, it is therefore not a do-or-die ambition and it is not a raw lust for power or monetary gain,” he said.
Oshoala assured supporters that his leadership would usher in life-transforming programmes and developmental initiatives that would benefit all residents and indigenes of the local government.
The chairmanship aspirant holds two master’s degrees from international institutions and is a member of various professional bodies.
