The Appeal Court sitting in Lagos has affirmed the election of Prince Dapo Abiodun as the governor of Ogun State.
The Appellate court which dismissed an appeal filed by Oladipupo Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party, seeking to set aside the judgement of the Ogun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, earlier upheld Abiodun’s victory in the March 18 election in the state, as it was declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Adebutu who was dissatisfied with the judgement of the tribunal, approached the Appellate Court, to challenge the verdict, and be declared a winner by the court.
However, the judgment delivered by Justice Joseph Shagbaor Ikyegh dismissed the appeal filed by the PDP candidate and affirmed the tribunal judgement which upheld Abiodun’s election.
