Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced on Wednesday that the seat of Senator Monday Okpebholo, representing Edo Central Senatorial District, has been declared vacant.
This announcement follows Okpebholo’s election as the Governor of Edo State, marking his exit from the 10th Senate.
Akpabio has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to organize elections promptly in order to fill the vacant seat.
He stressed that this will ensure that the people of Edo Central continue to have representation in the Senate.
