Former Minister of Defence, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, SAN, has urged voters in Ondo State to back Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress candidate, in Saturday’s governorship election.
He highlighted that supporting Aiyedatiwa would guarantee the continuation of vital projects launched under the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, and open opportunities for new advancements in the state.
Kayode emphasized that voting for a candidate connected to the federal government is crucial for consistent progress in Ondo State. He noted that the last time the state held two substantive ministerial positions was under President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration, a milestone recently repeated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who also appointed two ministers from Ondo.
“It would be a sign of ingratitude if voters in Ondo State abandon a government that has influence at the federal level for an opposition party,” Kayode remarked.
He further stated that an APC-aligned government would facilitate the arrival of more national development projects in Ondo State, enhancing access to the dividends of democracy for its citizens.
