Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Tuesday, presented the 2025 budget proposal of N655.23 billion to the State House of Assembly for consideration.
The budget, titled “Budget of Recovery,” reflects a significant increase of N259.9 billion compared to the N395.25 billion allocated for the 2024 fiscal year.
Governor Aiyedatiwa outlined the allocation of the budget, with N248.9 billion (37.9%) designated for recurrent expenditure and N406.3 billion (62.01%) set aside for capital expenditure.
The sectoral breakdown of the budget includes:
Infrastructural Development: N238.572 billion (36.40%)
Public Finance: N125.456 billion (19%)
Education: N77.024 billion (11.80%)
Agricultural Development: N56.102 billion (8.60%)
Health: N46.016 billion (7.00%)
Administration of Justice: N18.312 billion (2.80%)
In his presentation, Aiyedatiwa emphasized that the budget aimed to build on the achievements of the previous year and solidify the state’s progress.
Aiyedatiwa said: “We have delivered on our promises and now seek to consolidate our gains through the 2025 Budget.”
