The Accord Party has elected a new National Working Committee at its National Convention held in Abuja on Sunday, July 28, 2024, monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Mgbudem Maxwell was elected as the national Chairman, while Maryam Saleh emerged as the Deputy National Chairman. Other elected officers include Hon. Adebukola Abiola Ajimobi as National Secretary, Abdul Rahman Danladi as Deputy National Secretary, Abdullazees Salahudeen as National Treasurer, and Ibe Kenechukwu as National Organizing Secretary.
In his acceptance speech, Mgbudem thanked members for their trust and confidence in him. “Together, we will cultivate a party that is not only respected but also admired for its innovative ideas and unwavering commitment to the betterment of our country,” he said.
He pledged to elevate the party to the highest political pedestal, ensuring that Accord is synonymous with progress, innovation, and success.
The Inter-Party Advisory Council has congratulated Mgbudem on his emergence as Accord National Chair, describing his victory as well-deserved.
In a statement signed by Mrs Chinyere Oge-Kalu, IPAC’s National Publicity Secretary, the council expressed confidence that Mgbudem will run an inclusive administration, reconcile aggrieved members, and take the party to the next level of electoral exploits.
Mgbudem, a legal practitioner and former Accord National Legal Adviser, National Chairman Caretaker Committee, founding member, and National Secretary of IPAC, is expected to lead the party to greater heights.
