President Bola Tinubu has pledged to equip the Nigeria Police Force with modern resources and equipment to enhance its effectiveness.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony of 478 students from the Nigeria Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State, Tinubu emphasized the need for a modernized police force.
The President, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, urged the graduates to adhere to the ethics of modern policing and uphold the highest level of professionalism, according to Politics Nigeria.
He expressed confidence in their training and ability to positively impact the country’s security architecture.
Tinubu also announced a massive recruitment drive to empower youth participation in national security efforts.
The Federal Government has committed to supporting the academy, recognized as one of the best training grounds for police officers in Sub-Saharan Africa.
This move aims to transform the police force into a modern, professional, and accountable institution, capable of effectively addressing Nigeria’s security challenges.
“We are also embarking on a massive recruitment drive into the Police Force aimed at empowering our youth to participate in national security efforts,” Tinubu added.
